Student Onboarding-Checklist
Welcome to Jax Beach Aviation!
We’re excited to have you join our aviation community. Whether you’re here to begin flight training, continue your ratings, or simply explore the joy of flying, our team is here to support you every step of the way. At JBA, you’re not just a student—you’re part of the family.
Before First Lesson:
- Log into FlightCircle.com and confirm access to your JBA account
- Sign Renters Agreement
- Find your lesson on the schedule.
- Review Payment Options and Set Up Payment Method in Flight Circle (eCheck/ACH for bonus points)
Before Second Lesson:
- Sign Up for Gold Seal Ground School (when prompted, use Fly@jaxbeachaviation.com as your
CFI) You may use another ground school if you prefer - Upload Documents to Flight Circle. Documents needed and How-to Upload
- Create IACRA account (Apply for Student License)
- Upload user photo on Flight Circle account
- Get the required materials (see below)
Before First Solo
(Extra credit if completed before first few lessons)
- Get Renters Insurance
- Sign Up for Medical Certificate exam Appointment
- Sign Up for Med Xpress and fill out form Requesting Class I Medical (Consult your CFI)
- Upload Copy of Renters Insurance, medical, pilot certificate to Flight Circle ( include expiration dates)
- Complete Pre Solo Test and Review with CFI
- Read Rental Checkout Procedures and confirm understanding from your JBA CFI
Materials Needed “Eventually”
- iPad (We suggest ipad Mini 5 or newer w/ cell capabilities)
- ForeFlight Subscription (Highly recommend. Starter subscription for PPL, Essential subscription needed for IRA)
- Paper or Digital Versions of these Documents, and the FAR/AIM (app or book or foreflight document)
- Download and Practice Plane English (not required)
Materials NOT Needed
(but optional… and by no means encouraged)
- Paper Pilot Logbook
- Physical E6B
- Knee board

- Get 85% or better on practice exam and get CFI endorsement
- Sign Up For Written Exam (Create Account, Sign up for Private Pilot Airplane – PAR)
